Why Secure a Place in a Memorial Park?

Choose a memorial park ideal for memorializing your loved ones

Why do we need to secure a place in a memorial park?

There are two certainties that cannot be avoided, according to Benjamin Franklin. First is death and the second is taxes. Losing a loved one is indeed a very painful event in one’s life. Someday, we will lose our lives too.

Death is something inevitable; we cannot prevent it from taking us. However, we can ease the pain and the burden that comes with it when we face it prepared. Likewise, when purchasing a final resting place just right after we lose a loved one to death, we could feel being clouded by grief. There are numerous decisions that have to be made following such loss, and these could be very burdensome because you are being pressured by time. As a result, many don’t make wise decisions when choosing a good final resting place, and then regret it afterwards.

Land is a finite resource, especially in a crowded metro. Since a cemetery or a memorial park is a piece of land, it does not expand by itself. Metro Cebu, especially the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Talisay, there is quite a number of cemeteries. The reality, however, is that these cemeteries and memorial parks have limited space and sooner or later, will run out of room. This is the same reason why cemeteries are sprouting at places outside the metro, just like those in Minglanilla, Consolacion and beyond.

Do we really need to go that far just give our departed love ones a good final resting place? What if there is a choice?

Whether we admit it or not, a memorial park is a real estate, thus it can be considered an investment. Years ago, the price of memorial lots are way cheaper than today. This is also true for available lots today; they will be cheaper now than in the future. So, why wait for these lots to become more expensive when you acquire them in the future?

For investors, memorial lots could also be an investment. They could purchase memorial lots at a cheaper price today, and then resell them in the future. Lot values do not go down; they only go up. Investors don’t have to invest some sweat or work hard to gain profit from these lots -- they just have to wait until the price is ripe to sell them to other people. You too could earn this way.
